Andrew Winston speaks on “Leadership” to Cub Scout Pack 409
 
Davie, Floria–March 2010–Lawlor Winston, LLP Shareholder Andrew Y. Winston addressed members of Pine Island Ridge Cub Scout Pack 409 on the topic of “Leadership”.  The one-hour program included a lecture, several leadership and “team-building” excercises and a question/answer session from the students.
 
“Interracting with young people like this is one of the most rewarding things I do,” said Andrew.  “These Scouts are our future leaders, and I am honored and humbled to have been asked to visit with them.”

Winston was invited to address the entire third grade at Nova Southeastern University School as a visiting “Celebrity Reader”.  Andrew read selections from the popular series “Harry Potter”, as well as Dr. Suess’ ever-popular and iconic “Green Eggs and Ham”.
 
A question and answer session followed the reading, during which students asked questions regarding topics that included the practice of law and how Lawyers use reading in their daily work.

Ben Murphey of Lawlor Winston, LLP Obtains $355,000 Judgment for “Mom & Pop” Supermarket
 
Fort Lauderdale – February 2010 – Bay State Supermaket contracted for the sale of its business to JN Market.  When JN Market failed to abide by the terms of the sales contract, the owners retained Lawlor Winston who pursued claims for breach of contract, violation of Florida’s Worthless Check Act, and breach of guarantee.  The firm obtained a judgment in excess of $355,000.00.

Lawlor Winston Obtains $1.9 Million Settlement for Catastrophically Injured Woman
 
Fort Lauderdale – February 2010 – The litigation team at Lawlor Winston, LLP in Fort Lauderdale, Florida obtained a $1.9 Million pre-trial settlement for a 56 year old woman struck by a car.  The victim sustained multiple open fractures of the lower extremities and did not have distal pulses in the lower extremeties or the left upper extremety at the scene of the accident.  After being rushed to the hospital, she underwent multiple emergency surgeries to save her limbs, and months of in-patient treatment thereafter.  The victim’s past medical bills exceeded $446,000.00.  She is expected to live with severe disabilities for the rest of her life.…
