Many times, residents of Plantation will seek out a personal injury lawyer that serves the Plantation area after they suffer a “slip and fall” or “trip and fall” injury. But, did you know that you can receive compensation for a slip and fall injury even if you didn’t slip or fall? The legal name for such a personal injury case is a premises liability case, and your lawyer can help you to receive compensation in such a case if the property owner did not adequately provide for your safety or reasonably prevent the accident that occurred there.

Such personal injury cases have come to be known as slip and fall or trip and fall lawsuits because often that is how a person is injured.…

The Florida GOP and the billionaire Koch Brothers are waging an unprecedented attack on Florida’s Judiciary. This year, three excellent Supreme Court Justices are up for “merit retention” on the November 6 Ballot. Justices Lewis, Quince and Pariente are smart, honest and fair-minded jurists who happen to have authored opinions the GOP and the Koch brothers do not like.

This attack on the indepence of our Judiciary is a dispicable politicization of our legal system. We NEED a strong, independent Judicial branch of our government. Weston residents would not be unreasonable to think that an auto accident, in which they know they were not at fault, was caused by the other driver. It is inconceivable that anyone in Las Vegas would drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol after being warned over and over again of the risks of causing an accident that could kill or injure someone. Yet, despite the warnings, area residents were recently met with the shock of another tragic wreck attributed to DUI when a young man in his twenties plowed into several people who were waiting at a bus stop. The prosecuting lawyer has said that the man had both alcohol and marijuana in his system at the time of the accident.

In the Las Vegas bus stop accident, four people were killed and seven others, in addition to the driver, were injured.…

Rarely does a day go by when South Florida commuters do not come upon at least one auto accident during their daily travels. Sometimes, however, despite the fact that insurance information is exchanged between parties or citations issued by law enforcement authorities, it takes the efforts of a personal injury lawyer to determine who was at fault for the accident and whether or not multiple parties bear responsibility.

Even if a driver is cited by the police following an auto accident in South Florida, there may be others who should also be held accountable for any damages. If an injury resulted from the accident, an experienced auto accident lawyer will investigate the accident to determine if any defective or poorly engineered parts might have played a role or if the roadway itself could have contributed to the accident or the injury in any way.…
